RE: [SLE] virus cure-low level format?
Yes. Formatting the drive with the windows format command does the same thing. Did the RMA tools report anything? Also, check that you have UltraDMA enabled in Windows - it may be defaulting to PIO mode. To do this, open the devcie manager, and look at the primary IDE controller properties. There's probably an advanced settings tab, on which you can choose whether you want to use UDMA or PIO. Finally, when troubleshooting windows patches, install them one at a time, and then reboot. First off, install SP4, then restart. If performance drops, uninstall it and go back to SP3. Wash, rinse, repeat. Alan Crowe NT Systems Manager Shell Information Technology International Ltd. I had downloaded the tools earlier and will attempt to test drive again. The Problem(s) usually start when i attempt to dwonload windows patches. Would formatting drive with Suse destroy all data on drive including viruses? Thanks. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
