The writing was on the wall when WSL was included in Win10. With Satya Nadella as CEO, the benefit of opensource has been embraced more than ever by M$. For its benefit as well as the benefit of opensource generally. While I always view it with a skeptical eye, it, from what I have seen, has been much more of a win-win situation than anything else. I love to hate M$, but the number of rocks I've had to throw at it have been shrinking over the past few years.
When windows has both a copy and selection buffer, we will know the marriage is complete :p

As I understand it, the Linux version(s) running on or under Windows 10 are strictly terminal versions, not GUI versions, is that correct? In other words, designed to be used by ISPs, not regular users. --doug
