It has to be frustrating. You haven't really gotten answers to your questions.

I think part of the problem is Your Subject;

"Hotplug Device"

Most hotplug devices are things like cameras and memory sticks, whereas you have a WLAN - "namely a local area network that uses high frequency radio signals to transmit and receive data over distances of a few hundred feet; and your wlan uses ethernet protocol."

Am I right ???

Now, somehow you want to connect this "wlan" to the world using over DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) and you want to configure this using the yast gui, the problem being that YaST hasn't caught up to wlans yet and all you can find is "ifcfg-dsl"

Andrea, I replying to my own mail-- I snipped off part, which you may want to read... However, it dawned on me, the YaST gui doesn't have "everything".. it only has the things which are installed on the machine...and you may not have installed al the rpms you need to yet. So my question to you is do you have: etherboot-5.0.7-17.i586.rpm km_pcmci-3.2.0-59.i586.rpm km_pcmci-3.2.0-59.i586.rpm and similar rpms installed ??? These rpms are from the SuSE 8.1 CD and they may not apply in your situation. However, how I found them was doing: "pin wlan" If you don't have "pin" installed, I would suggest installing it now. There was just a Security Update on pin. It can be found at: http://www.suse.co.uk/uk/private/download/updates/90_i386.html for SuSE 9.0 and http://www.suse.co.uk/uk/private/download/updates/82_i386.html for SuSE 8.2 (ifyou are running 8.1 or 8.0, it's there just change the 82_i386 to 81_i386... you got it) Once pin is installed do "pin wlan" Hope this helps, Gar -- Certainly the game is rigged.
