I have an annoying problem with sound. I have a new Suse8.2 installation with Alsa sound installed on it. Mozilla supports the sound OK, but KDE doesn't do squat. In KDE or WindowMaker I have Mozilla sound working great. But I can't get anything else running. This is kind of backwards from problems I've seen with sound in the past. Though admittedly this is the first time I've tried ALSA. I'm not really sure what I should be trying to do next. Suggestions?

We can't help you without any details. Charles -- "Oh, I've seen copies [of Linux Journal] around the terminal room at The Labs." (By Dennis Ritchie)

I know. It's fine now. It just failed the KDE sound <test> button. But login/logout is really noisy!!! This was an example of a "bad post".... -- 'Course, that doesn't work when 'a' contains parentheses. -- Larry Wall in <199710211647.JAA17957@wall.org>
My experience is sometimes. Mostly related to works once but 'locks up' or 'appears to work but silent' a second time. This is not consistant enough to post here as a problem, but if anyone has fixed this type of behaviour I would be interested. David On Thursday 18 September 2003 1:38 am, Tom Allison wrote:
