On an athlon system: Does it make a big performance difference selecting an Athlon kernel as opposed to a generic 386 kernel that will run on anything? Is the difference noticable? thanks in advance joe
ummm..in a word. Yes. If your kernel is optimized for your CPU of course you will see a big difference. The Athlon is a modern CPU...vs..the i386 which is older then dirt. * joe (jel2@earthlink.net) [010306 13:59]: =>On an athlon system: => =>Does it make a big performance difference selecting an Athlon kernel as opposed =>to a generic 386 kernel that will run on anything?
