The drive shows up in Konqueror>media:/sde But if I try to open it I get this popup message Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist My external usb hard drive mounts as media:/sde but with the zip connected instead lshal does not show an sde I have 2 of these drives and they both fail to get mounted so it's not the drive. Clues please Dave

Dave Works fine if I us Konqueror in superuser mode.
So that begs the question how do I allow normal users to access the drive. Dave
