Then the apm/acpi of your bios isn't supported or you've explicitly turned it off by booting with acpi=off and/or apm=off. 'cat /proc/cmdline' will tell you if you aren't sure. -- -ckm

Of course. 1. You want "rcacpid restart" instead of "rcapmd restart". 2. If you want it to take effect even after the next reboot, you should do "insserv acpid". Greetings from Bremen hartmut
