Could someone describe briefly, or point me to a document which describes what XML RPC Daemon is about? I saw that in the KDE Control Center and would like to understand what it does. KDE itself doesn't have any document for this module. Many thanks, Ali.

They put it there to make people ask questions. :-) Actually that is a very interesting question. Are you familiar with the general concept of RPC and XML? I'm no world expert on the topic, but it is rather interesting. Beyond the general concepts, I know very little about the KDE RPM XML, (KRX?). STH -- Hatton's Law: There is only One inviolable Law

It's really cool. It's for scripting KDE applications in any language. Check out the following links: http://developer.kde.org/documentation/library/kdeqt/kde2arch/xmlrpc.html http://developer.kde.org/documentation/tutorials/automation/index.html Both of the documents are old, though. Python has xmlrpc in the base distribution these days, so you don't have to install anything. You should also run kdcop to browse what you can do to your applications. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9rxfG+FOexA3koIgRAi20AJ9dU4cNHp/QmqEVo4ZG1eBIJ1OByQCfdgmf M9u3MLh8xd9Hi0yWpmV2vV4= =wfPg -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
