[opensuse] Is "ovftool" for converting ova files to vmdk's in the distro?
All, I have some *.ova files a client gave me. They are a VMware container file. I need to extract out the VMDK file inside. I read the ovftool is the tool for doing that. I don't know if openSUSE has that and if so what package it is in. when the security concerns have been laid to rest, look for it at: http://software.opensuse.org/search ovftool ovf fwiw: I don't find it in any of the repos I have enabled. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

OVA format is simply tar archive of directory content that includes VMDK files with additional XML manifest inside. You can extract content directly.

You can download it from VMware. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
