Hi, Any info, docs about how to setup a SuSE cluster based on 8.2 or 8.1 ? Is there any mailing list within SuSE regarding this subject ? Under Yast2 there is no Cluster Selection to easy see what software comes for cluster solution. Maybe a good tip for SuSE to add a cluster solution under Yast2 ! Many thanks stefan

Assuming you want a HA cluster (ie. not Beowulf), the SuSE includes the heartbeat rpms from the Linux-HA project. Greg -- Greg Freemyer

I'm going to answer assuming you want a Beowulf high performance cluster, for the ridiculous reason that that's what I'm doing. I've got 69 Dell dual processor machines doing bioinformatics.

Might be worthwhile.

The closest they come is in the Yast Control Centre : System : Editor for /etc/sysconfig files : Network : Distributed System which has entries for OpenPBS and Sun Grid Engine. This didn't quite work for me, I had to use the "install.master" scripts. If you have more nodes than you want to install by hand I'm working on a system I call cloneboot, which netboots and copies the master system's disk during bootup...
