[SLE] how to fix the order of loading sg modules via modules.conf
I am sorry if this message hits your mailbox twice, but yahoo is giving an excellent service !!!! again Hi everyone, I am using standard pre compiled suse APM supported kernel. Here are the two hardware pieces I would like to use when the time arises. I have a ide atapi cdwriter and a TEKRAM 390 scsi card hosting umax 2200 scanner. I am using the append parameter of lilo hdc=ide-scsi max_luns_scsi=1 AM53C974=7,5,3,0 (BTW when the kernel loads there are no scsi devices found !!!) modules.conf is adapted as follows for the Ricoh CD writer alias scd0 sr_mod alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi alias char-major 21 sg (this was set already so nothing special done for this) and for the scanner pre-install sg modprobe tmscsim post-install sg echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 5 0" > /proc/scsi/scsi After setting these I used yast to integrate the cdrom into the system as scd0 and set the umax scanner Here is the phase I am having difficulty in setting up. If I load the scanner device first everything works fine. However ifI access the cdrom first then I cannot get the scanner working since it is not the first sg device anymore. How can I make this fixed so the order of the sg.o will not changed ? Thanks -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
