SOT: Libre Office on Windows 11

I am running Libre Office on Leap 15.5. I've never had any problem with it. My wife is using Libre Office on Windows 11. It recently had a brain fart and went into "Safe Mode" and deleted the file being worked on. Anyone else seen this and is it frequent? TIA, Jeffrey

I've never encountered it -- but it data loss occurred, you need to open a bug with the LibreOffice folks. That shouldn't occur. Even when an infected file is discovered by a virus checker -- the file is generally quarantined and not wholesale deleted. Something is very odd there (but being on Win11 -- that may be normal...) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

What went into safe mode, Windows or LO? Maybe if Windows switched to safe mode (I didn't know it could do that in the middle of a session), maybe the disk turned to read-only and LO could not write the file back if it had just deleted the old version and was in the middle of writing it new. But there should be a backup copy of the old version, just that it is not saved to the same directory. It goes to a backup directory configured somewhere in LO. LO, Tools, Options, LO, Paths, Backups. In Linux it is .config/libreoffice/4/user/backup -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.5 x86_64 at Telcontar)

For LO on whatever OS, try the lo mailing list? https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/
