[opensuse] Samba printing blocked by NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Without any change in settings (known to me), I lost contact with the Samba printers in my department. I get NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. Any idea how can I get back to a working state. The Samba print server is working fine. Another openSUSE users in the domain are able to print. I reset the printers in YaST and the "Test Connection" gives OK (so it sees the server) and I double-checked the user name and password. But when I try to send a test print I get the following in my /var/log/cups/error_log: (text trimmed for brevity and privacy) E [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE E [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL E [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE E [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) D [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] The following messages were recorded from 12:21:06 to 12:21:06 D [27/Apr/2012:12:21:06 -0600] [Job 453] Adding start banner page "none". Thanks. This hint helped me find your previous email, which points to this bug report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?GoAheadAndLogIn=1&id=758426 Indeed, I am using samba 3.6.3 (and oS 11.4). And I learned in the bug report how to stop AppArmor: service boot.apparmor stop I did that and restarted CUPS (rccups restart), but the problem persists. Time to file another bug report, you think? -- Carlos F Lange -- Recursive: Adj. Perhaps you have to restart samba as well.

Possibly. You can revert to the previous samba version, and if the issue is not there, without changing any config file, certainly report. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. OK. I reverted all packages: samba, samba-client, libwclient0, libsmbclient0 and printing is working again. I will submit a bug report tonight. -- Carlos F Lange -- Recursive: Adj.
