Another problem plaguing my kmail is it keeps complaiing I have an invalid transport for sending email. I have seen some discussion on this but nothing I tried has worked. I am running opensuse 11.0 x64, KDE4.0.4, and kmail 1.9.51

REceiving email works fine but I cannot send. with opensuse 10.3 settings for sending worked fine. I have checked with evolution that my smtp settings are indeed still correct.

Any suggestion what to rtry, or is this a lost cause for now?

It works here using kwallet, did you copy the KDE3 kmail folder to KDE4? Try deleting your account and recreating it. Did you try kmail with an empty .kde4 directory?

I setup kmail to use kwallet and it (kmail) no longer complains about an invalid transport and sending mail now actually works! It looks like kwallet MUST be used with kmail now. This was not required with earlier versions. One more comment. I cannot get kmail to store my outgoing POP server password in kwallet. It seems to only care about sending and not receiving. That seems odd to me.
