Both of minicom and wvdial tells "cannot open /dev/ttySHCF0: No such device"
Did you change the group to uucp. Also, remove the world rw, i.e "chmod 660 /dev/ttySHCF0". That just might be your problem. Did you also run ldconfig and SuSEconfig after install?
