[opensuse] question on named ...
Dear listmembers, configuring my local nameserver I stumbled across something I cannot understand within the suse configuration, maybe someone could help me with this:
From leap 42.1 to leap 42.3 the entry
include "/etc/named.d/forwarders.conf"; has ben taken out of /etc/named.conf So, named does not relate to this file any more. However, /etc/init.d/named creates a zero - size forwarders.conf - file in /etc/named.d. This actually happens in /etc/init.d/named, where it states at three locations: if [ ! -e /etc/named.d/forwarders.conf ]; then touch /etc/named.d/forwarders.conf fi The configuration script /etc/netconfig.d/dns-bind is configured to create this file as well (given some prerequisites are met). Why is this done? In contrast to the old version from leap 42.1 the "forwarders" statements are a textual part of /etc/named.conf. Should I consider this as a bug and report on the opensuse bugtracker? Thank you very much for any feedback on this, regards Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- Dr.-Ing. It hardly warrants bug report against stable release - developers time is better spent on important things. Check Factory and open big report against Factory if it is still the case or even better just submit PR against development repository directly.
Thank you very much for any feedback on this, regards

I guess named has not yet been migrated to systemd? Must be one of the very last. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
