I almost hate to ask this, opening myself up to some explanations that I may well not understand: I currently have an ATI 8500 which is running. 3Ddiag seems to give ok results, no errors, but at least the 3D games I have tried report no 3D support (AlephOne, Racer). Others from Loki will install but not run in any usable way: QuakeIII, HeroesIII, Heavy Gear II,Soldier of Fortune, Descent3, Heretic II. Sheepishly, I have to admit I am not a major gamer, but bought these to support the Linux and game community. Big heart. I also installed the ATI driver files from the Gatos video site in order to get xawtv and similar programs working. They do now. Will there be a conflict with the new ATI drivers? Should I uninstall the Gatos files and if so, will xawtv and such still run? I noticed in the long ATI readme file something about xv not working with the ATI drivers. I am not clear whether this is the program that xawtv runs from or is just an adjunct program in the Gatos file group. Thanks for any simplified advice. Richard
