Hi folks: I have Suse 8.1 with KDE 3.0.3 and Konqueror 3.0.3. Pretty much stock installation at this point. I log in to KDE, then click the "house" icon to fire up Konqueror displaying my home dir. In the navigation panel (used to be called the sidebar), I click the wrench icon, which causes a little pop-up menu to appear with several menu items. Clicking "show extra buttons" causes Konqueror to crash, sig 11. Also, clicking "close navigation panel" causes a crash as well. I wish to get a general consensus on how many people observe this problem, a survey, if you will. Please respond by stating exactly what version of KDE and Konqueror you have, on what version of Suse Linux. If you have updated KDE to 3.0.4, please make this clear as well. After seeing if this problem is or isn't repeatable, I will refer a bug report to the appropriate Suse and KDE people. Thanks. -- ____________________________________ Christopher R. Thanks. ===================== Chris, I could not repeat this error on my new 8.1 update. I do have 3.0.4 kde installed though, but Konqueror behaves very well so far for me.

I guess I have to take this back as now I am seeing the same behavior with Konq file manager. I tried it on the 8.1 KDE3.0.3 machine in the shop and it crashes when left clicking on the icon and choosing either of the functions you mention, but right clicking there to bring up the same menu, behaves correctly. The same thing with my 8.1 KDE 3.0.4 on my working machine now. Left click, select, crash while right click, select works. Don't know what I did before that it didn't show up, but it would appear to be a bug. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4.3 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206
Chris, SuSE 8.1 up to date yesterday via YOU, KDE 30.4 via YOU. Yes I get the crash too. btw the icon is, I believe, a combo of wrench and hammer 'crossed' as is arranged like an X. PeterB Principle Retired Person On Thursday 31 October 2002 12:10 pm, Chris Carlen wrote:

I think you have a wrench and hammer because you have a different icon style than the Connectiva Crystal icon theme activated. I just had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to get it back after changing themes, and getting back to an ugly 7.3 desktop. Now I'm back to the Crystal, plus a few of my mods. This 8.1 desktop is so gorgeous I just want to look at it all day and not do anything else. Of course, the desktop isn't good for much else anyway so... Heh heh, just kidding. Good day! -- ____________________________________ Christopher R. Carlen Principal Laser/Optical Technologist Sandia National Laboratories CA USA crcarle@sandia.gov

SuSE 8.0 Pro, KDE 3.0.4 Did not crash. What a useless feature named "Show extra buttons". I tried ti and all it did was got rid of one button...and I don't know which one....don't even care about this feature.
