MySQLd question [computername-bin.00X]
I have noticed that mysqld generates some files called computername-bin.00X. Does anyone know what this files are? I have a database that creates 1 GB of data to these files a day. --- Trond www.kringstad.net
I don't know quite what they mean, but my files as quite small and I just noticed I mysqld-max isn't running, so I don't have the latest logs available. Perhaps you have large databases on your system. barrabas:/usr1/CD/250-1500 # file /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.001 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.001: MySQL replication log -rw-rw---- 1 60 root 4881 2003-08-16 22:02 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.001 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 115 2003-08-16 23:59 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.002 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 86 2003-08-17 00:00 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.003 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 86 2003-08-17 00:47 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.004 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 86 2003-08-17 11:12 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.005 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 86 2003-08-17 11:43 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.006 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 115 2003-08-18 00:22 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.007 -rw-rw---- 1 60 daemon 86 2003-08-24 19:00 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.008 -rw-rw---- 1 60 root 152 2003-08-18 00:22 /var/lib/MYSQL/barrabas-bin.index Regards Sid. subscribe wrote:
