I am running Suse 7.2. My problem is that as soon as the computer boots up (it was running for a week before it got booted again) it loads the kernel then goes into init 0 and shuts down. I can override this in lilo by booting with "linux init 3 " but what is the problem Thanks Ray Booysen

Ouch. Try editing /etc/inittab and see what the line that reads something like: id:3:initdefault: says. 3 is text based login, 5 is graphical login. It is set in the file that the initial runlevel is 3. Any other ideas?
