on a 15.2 to 15.3 dup-ed system, dmesg and dmesg -e suddenly ask for priviliges or deny functionality without being root. why? bug? ty.

New kernel option to prevent normal users from reading the kernel log. It's an optional setting in the kernel, I guess Suse is defaulting it to 'on'.
