Since I have never used radeon but only have nvidia cards I need to look elsewhere for the answer.

PS A few minutes ago I tried to "fiddle" with my wife's Leap 15.0 system and after that rebooted the system; when I logged in, I received a Notification stating , "Failed to cache rpm database".
Going from bad to worse :-). Had a quick look: "Fiddle" is not a techique described in my books. Without knowing what you mean by that terminology it's impossible to say something decent about it.
