I posted this question earlier but I didn't have the output in the post. Can someone please tell me what to do or where to go to read about what to do to resolve this? The first time I got error 250 at the end. I just duplicated the process to create output for this post and now I am getting error 208 ?
I know Joe suggested that I resolve the dependencies but I don't know how. I thought apt was supposed to do that for me?
Here is my output
Your problem is you have ALL the directories in your sources.list file and it downloaded conflicting RPM's. This is my sources.list file. It's been working for me quite nicely. Just vi your /etc/apt/sources.list and put this list in place of what you have... rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/8.2-i386 base update kde3-stable kde mozilla packman packman-i686 security xfree86 usr-local-bin After you replace your list in sources.list you should rerun 'apt-get update && apt-get upgrade' so that things can be corrected.
file /opt/gnome2/lib/libgtkhtml-3.0.so.2.1.1 from install of gtkhtml3.0-3.0.8-SuSE.ulb.1 conflicts with file from package libgtkhtml3.0_2-3.0.8-0.ximian.7.1
Your getting this error because it's trying to install Ximian Gnome packages and usr-local-bin.org Gnome packages..and they contain files that conflict with each other. If you don't have Ximian Gnome installed then delete all of the ximian packages in /var/cache/apt/archives/.
file /opt/kde3/share/applnk/Utilities/More/karm.desktop from install of kdepim3-time-management-3.1.3-18 conflicts with file from package kdepim3-3.1.1-76 file /opt/kde3/bin/artsmessage from install of ktamaga-0.7.2-90 conflicts with file from package kdelibs3-3.1.1-52
Simply remove ktamaga because it's not needed. It's just game and if you don't play the game then you don't need it. The ktamaga package contains files that have been moved to another RPM ie. kdelibs3. You can remove it by doing this... rpm -e ktamaga Basically, your trying to install a bunch of packages that are redundant..this comes from having every single directory in your sources.list. If you use the one I have listed above then you should be good. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
