Hi,
Delayed reply ;-) Was out for a few days.
I tried to do as you guys suggested to change back to 1024 x 768. But the problem is that the screen is very grainy and also the letters are kind of diffuse, one going and mixing into the other. The problem persists immaterial of the resolution.
Any guesses what could be wrong?
Chaitanya.
Did you reset everything using sax2? Here's the procedure: 1. ctrl alt F1 (drops you down to a terminal, text only screen) 2. Login as root 3. type "init 3" (this kills X, so that sax2 will run) 4. type "sax2" at the prompt (should start sax2) 5. at the first sax2 screen, choose change configuration, which should take you into the configuration screens. 6. Set the monitor, set the resolution & colors, set the 3d (always choose more than just the needed 1024x768, choose also 800x600 & 640x480) These will give you access to those screens for games & such. 7. Finish up, but test the screen first, finalize and back to the prompt. 8. type "init 5" to get back to the login screen or kde 9. Be sure anti-aliasing is turned on in the fonts, set the font size that suits you best. (kde control center) That should get it right. If you are grainy now you might not have the dpi set right yet, but running sax2 should fix that. Lee
