No - it is a front end onto transcode, so it will accept any format that transcode will. I assume that the name is simply referring to the author's original need :-)
By the way, I thought one could burn mpeg directly to a cdrw. K3b will not burn my mpeg. I guess I am missing something here.
You can burn any file direct onto a data CD, but VCD and SVCD are specific formats that require particular details about the mpeg file to be correct. But if you want the file to play in a DVD player or similar, you'll need to get the VCD/SVCD format correct.
