Couuld not find any info on this file. Is this the problem? If so, where does it come from? File is there in proper path, but it is 0 bytes long.
Not from any rpm from the distro.

Found out this is probably the file in /var/lib/sane directory. It was 0 bytes, but when I opened it, and saved it, it was 2.7 KB. Ended up deleting it and it was recreated by Yast and was 4.5 KB.

Have given up on this. As it turns out, problem is in Kernel, Suse's solution is to install 10.3 which is still Alpha stage. Am not brave enough, expecially without instructions to try a Mandrake kernel patch, and do not feel comfortable with a new kernel compile as when I have done that before, it was noting but headache without exact instructiions which do not seem to be in existence for Suse. May try that when it goes to beta. Am going to try Kubuntu 7.04 on another machine and see how it works. In the meantime, I can use my Macbook if I need to scan.
