No its not because of that, its that the "tune is my own invention" part.

10-mail.conf, but you can
If that is the default, then it is unchanged, if it requires
10-mail.conf, then not, as nothing in the conf.d dir is used.
That imap CALLS something "inbox" may be due to
internal namespaces that have always been there -- the Washington State IMAP
had the same functionality, but I don't remember it having any explicit,
