Doesn't work, this is the error I am getting root@cojones:/home/jkrough > rcnfsserver restart Shutting down NFS server done Starting NFS server requires portmapper \033[71G\033[31m\033[1mfailed\033[mroot@cojones:/home/jkrough > I was and I still am pretty sure that it is a problem with portmap but I do not know where or what to look at. I was able to mount my remote directory before but not any longer. Also this machine is the client machine so I should not need the nfs server installed or running. I had been able to do nfs mount and I suspect the problem is in a script that got updated when I last applied updates to 6.3. I am not sure which packages or script files to look at, any help would be appreciated. I think this is a bug in the default config for 6.3. It seems that the default settings in /etc/rc.config are to use the user space NFS server, but the package with these tools in is NOT installed. Try adding the package "nfsserv" from series "n" and then running rcnfsserver restart Peter.
