I've been having sporadic problems with communications between a pair of SuSE system which I think has to do with the ethernet cards I'm using - a pair of 3Com  3c905b cards.  (These are listed as 'supported' on the Linux Hardware Compatibility page but as problematic in the SuSE hardware database.)  I want to try replacing these cards.

I'd appreciate recommendations of cards known to be reliable with SuSE systems (preferably 6.4 (kernel 2.2) and 7.1 (kernel 2.4), since that's what I'm running).  I know that there are many cards that are fine, I just need to pick one.  Unfortunately none of the places I buy hardware know anything about Linux compatibilty.  Reliability is my top priority, although cost is also relevant.

Thanks,
