OK to continbue the thread if you add this to your XF86Config file
(for version 4.0 +) what happens is when you run xev and press the
various internet keys you get what you are looking for ie XF86Mail
whjen you press the Mail key. Note that nothing is declared in xmodmap
file

Option        "XkbModel"      "microsoftpro"

Where can I find a list of the keyboard model names that XF86 recognizes?  Spelling these things correctly is of course critical.
