Did you ever get an answer to, or solve your problem? Today I tried to install SuSE 11.4 on an older IBM Netvista with Intel chipset and have not had any luck with getting X11 working. I found some info in the SuSE help http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configuring_graphics_cards but the only one that works is the fbdev method. Perhaps you are working with a newer system? So far I don't find many posts about Intel graphics cards. If you did get your system working, can you please tell me what you did?
