This leads to the question whether will all the fiddling about with changing where the USB devices are now mounted (in places other then the normal /media) and other stuffing around with changed paths this has a detrimental effect on the way ntfs-3g is now handled in openSUSE.
Mounting point and filesystem paths have no bearing the performance. If you tie the ntfs-3g FUSE to one core (taskset -p), and repeat the copy operation (cp or dd), I expect you will see one core maxed out. The FUSE itself is not multi-threading, but it will handle multiple concurrent requests. One copy operation is almost certainly single-threaded, though. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.6°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
