This post is from gmail's web interface. I highlighted the above phrase I wanted to keep in the email, then clicked reply. gmail automatically trimmed the rest of the email and dropped my cursor below the above to let me start typing. I have the gmail labs add-on "Quote selected text" enabled. It's a great add-on if you do much email work on lists like this. It makes it really easy to respond to just a paragraph and do all the trimming in one easy step. I see it does get the original author wrong. I hadn't noticed that before.
