I don't know what you mean by SuSE fix, but try booting to the Rescue system, login with your root passwd. Then, mount /dev/hdxx /mnt (choose your root partition with the xx's). If you have a separate boot partition, mount it as mount /dev/hdxx /mnt/boot. Then, chroot /mnt. Then, grub-install /dev/hda (Assuming that is the drive you are booting from). Then, Ctl-Alt-Del to reboot.
