Run 'pnpdump'. If it doesn't recognize the modem, then you are sol, as
someone with the same modem was a few days ago. if it doesn't work,
then you'll have to get an isa modem.

I haven't received a reply from Diamond yet, but it seems
like
the new 2.1.106 kernel supports PCI modems and sound
cards...,
to what extent I don't know. Anyone?

I'd like to be able to confirm this, but after compiling 2.1.106 (error
free compile, several times trying various options in an attempt to get
it to work) I got so many hangs and errors on boot that I gave up on it,
and compiled the new SuSE 2.0.34 kernel instead.
P.S.: 2.0.34 compiled and installed without a single problem. I'm using
SuSE 5.2. What's interesting is that my SB AWE32 PnP soundcard (ISA)
initializes on boot (and works fine), without using isapnp!

I downloaded the source to 2.1.106 also, but I still need to
upgrade almost all the required app upgrades except for 1.
(maybe this weekend I'll give it a try)
I'm still running SuSE 5.1 here, but I'll have to try
2.0.34, since I have the same soundcard.
