I am attempting to configure a new server; Pentium II 266 w/ 64 MB RAM, adaptec SCSI and 3COM 3c905BTX (Cyclone) NIC. Everything is working fine *except* the network interface card. The driver appears to load properly; ie. reports all the NIC info such as irq, i/o base, MAC address, etc. but the card appears to be "dead". Activity light won't flash and pings don't seem to make it onto the wire. An "arp -a" shows no entries. I've used the 3COM setup disk to run most of the card diagnostics and they all pass. I've also tried disabling full/half duplex auto-detect. There are no options set in /etc/conf.modules for this particular card. Any ideas ??? Thanks in advance, Reiney / B. I'd bet its DOA, try another card. We've had a bad bunch of the 3COM cards here lately also.
