This is a good package from my first impressions. However, it seems that ppp performance is poor. After recompiling the kernel used is 2.0.33. Is there a known problem wth this? I've looked at the thread history for this list and I haven't noticed this mentioned, but I thought I aw this mentioned in the linux newsgroups. It may be as simple as you not having declared "115200" in /etc/ppp/options. Post exactly what your problem is, and we'll try to help. DarkStar wrote: >=20 > Installation worked like a charm. Okay, in the /var/log/messages file, there is a n error message that states tehhe modem does not support 28800 baud rate. I've noted that telnet, ftp, and web browsing is taking a long time. I'm wondering if the modem is at some slow speed like 9600. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo(a)suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e --===============5532457702098329396==-- From satan@nfinity.com Tue Jun 16 19:25:35 1998 From: satan@nfinity.com To: users@lists.opensuse.org Subject: Re: [S.u.S.E. If it isn't set at 115200, make it so. I configured another PPP device, set defaultroute to true, and insert the rest of the ip data. It dialed and connected, but iI get network down errors. Here is the /var/log/messages portoin. Note that it said it can't replace the defauteroute.
