On my PPro150with 64Meg with UW SCSI-3 it takes about 28sec to initially load as well (3sec thereafter). In comparison MS Word97 on the same machine takes 1sec to load initially and "no time" thereafter. SO runs somewhat slow too. It thrashes the hard disk during ANY operation. Fonts are horrible in SO, especially, Times New Roman. As an experiment, open a document, change font to Times New Roman 12points, change the zoom to "Optimal". Now, try to use the delete or back space keys. For some reason the least expected parts of the line get deleted. Same types of fonts look fine in netscape, for example. Time for me to get new fonts?
