Since I just got interested in using graphical logins, I am curious how to
substitute gdm for xdm or getting rid of the xmessage status window in kdm.=20
Where is the graphical login program conf file located for kdm? How does
one substitute gdm for xdm?
Thanks a lot!!

to configure kdm, look at /opt/kde/share/config/kdmrc
to launch gdm, do a : chown gdm:shadow /var/lib/gdm
to configure it, look at /opt/gnome/etc/gdm/gdm.conf
to make gdm your default login, look at /etc/rc.config and change the
value of DISPLAY_MANAGER to : DISPLAY_MANAGER=3D"gdm" (I didn't try but it
must work)
maybe you can supress Xconsole from login with running XDMConfig (under
X + a WM).
If not, look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0 and comment the last 4
lines.
wow, quite proud of me this time ;)
