Well, I just got a driver for the ext2 fs for os/2 warp, and it does have
some excellent docs in it as far as how the ext2 fs is set up.  It also does
a pretty good job about explaining the different utilities, and goes into
quite a bit about how different file systems are accessed.  You might look at
