I searched my installation and CD (Infomagic 6-CD=20 set with SuSE 5.1 on one cd) but couldn't find them. I just installed the alsa-driver for my Creative Ensoniq=20 soundcard (ES1371). It appears to have installed correctly, and detects the card, but the output is muted by default so I'm trying to install the alsamixer from the alsa-utils-0.0.8=20 package. I need to install the alsa-libs first and apparently need libtools to do so. Anyone have experience with compiling alsa-utils or the alsa-libs-0.1.3.tar.gz package? (kmixer (and my kscd player) from KDE Beta 4.0 got "broken"=20 somehow at sometime and since I've read that not all mixers work with the alsa-driver I figure it makes more sense to spend my time=20 getting the alsa-utils installed.)=20 Happy New Year to everyone on the list!! As others have commented, the support from the folks at SuSE and the helpful=20 way information has been shared by the experienced and the inexperienced has been exemplary!!
