My problem is that i can not install suse 6.3 because the installation don=C5= =BDt recognise my SCSI card (an Advansys Ultra Wide, where i have a PLEXTOR 4= 0X & a YAMAHA 6416). I have the Spanish version, and in the manual tells that= i can use the param: linux advansys=3D0x123 (My SCSI card have the 0xD400 = i/o address) and i use linux advansys=3D0xD400, but the kernel don=C5=BDt de= tects any scsi ports or cards, and when the yast2 program have to read the CD= , tells me that i don=C5=BDt have the CD. With de 2nd CD (YAST1) i use the drivers options and i select advansys, don= =C5=BDt put anything in the command line, i push enter and the program detect= s my SCSI card, my YAMAHA, but not detects the Plextor and moreover the prg. = hangs (i have to restart the computer). with Corel linux and Redhat i don=C5=BD=C5=BDt have any problem to detect the= card and the cd=C5=BDs. My configuration: Advansys UWide SCSI card (ID7) YAMAHA 6416 (ID 3) PLEXTOR 40x (ID 4) with termination ----> i use = to start the boot cd and install. In the manual tell that i can create a boot disk with a scsi kernel, that hav= e to be in the disks dir (using the setup program) or in the suse\images dir.= But there are not any scsi kernel in these dirs, thought the manual tells th= at have to be a scsi0x.ikr file..... thanks you.
Hi, excuse my poor english.
My problem is that i can not install suse 6.3 because the= =20 installation don=C5=BDt recognise my SCSI card (an Advansys Ultra Wide, where= i have=20 a PLEXTOR 40X & a YAMAHA 6416). I have the Spanish version, and in the=20 manual tells that i can use the param: linux advansys=3D0x123 (My SCSI=20 card have the 0xD400 i/o address) and i use linux advansys=3D0xD400, but the= =20 kernel don=C5=BDt detects any scsi ports or cards, and when the yast2 program= have to=20 read the CD, tells me that i don=C5=BDt have the CD.
With de 2nd CD (YAST1) i use the drivers options and i se= lect=20 advansys, don=C5=BDt put anything in the command line, i push enter and the p= rogram=20 detects my SCSI card, my YAMAHA, but not detects the Plextor and moreover the= =20 prg. hangs (i have to restart the computer).
with Corel linux and Redhat i don=C5=BD=C5=BDt have any p= roblem to=20 detect the card and the cd=C5=BDs.
My configuration: Advansys UWide SCSI=20 card (ID7)
=20 =20 YAMAHA 6416 (ID 3)
=20 =20 PLEXTOR 40x (ID 4) with termination ----> i use to=20 start the boot cd and install.
In the manual tell that i can create a boot disk with a s= csi=20 kernel, that have to be in the disks dir (using the setup program) or in the = suse\images dir. But there are not any scsi kernel in these dirs, thought the= =20 manual tells that have to be a scsi0x.ikr file.....
thanks you.
