Hi everyone,
I have a problem with DHCP... Currently =
I=20
have an ethernet card installed and detected on the pc, and I'm trying to get=
=20
connected.
I was suggested that I sould get dhcp=20
program.
So I downloaded dhcpcd-0.70-2.i385.rpm bu=
t when=20
I run it, it says
failed=20
dependencies:
ld-linux.so.2 is needed by=20
dhcpcd-0.70-2
libc.so.6 is needed by=20
dhcpcd-0.70-2
Thus I've been looking for some files of =
this=20
sort that can be saved in diskettes. Some I found were already 2.9M...but=20
without internet connection, I can't download them directly onto linux, excep=
t=20
using floppies or CD ROMs(if available), I think.
If anybody knows where I can find the=20
appropriate dhcp rpm programs or if there are other ways to do the same thing=
,=20
please, please e-mail me...
I'm totally a newbie, but trying to make =
this=20
work.
I'll really appreciate if anybody gives m=
e any=20
suggestion or advice.
Thank you in advance. =3D)

Mika,
Looks like you downloaded a glibc version of the rpm. Instead of
downloading the rpm, get the source code and compile it yourself. It is
very easy and fast. You can find the package at
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/network/daemons/d=
hcpcd-0.70.tar.gz>
and it is only 36 KB.
