Hi,
this must be a trivial setting I've done wrong. I just do not know
which one!
When I compose a message in Pine and send it, it calls diald
immediately, and sends it.
Please help!

I don't think this is so much pine as it is sendmail. You need to
configure sendmail to only process the mail queue at specific intervals.
IIRC you can use the "-q" switch to tell sendmail the interval in which
to to process the mail queue. Use the man pages for "sendmail" for more
information regarding the various run arguments it can be run with.
