In all actuality, several distributions are based on each other. I won't p=
retend to be an
expert, but as I understand it:
Caldera is based on Redhat
WGS is based on Redhat
SuSE is based on slackware
this is NOT a bad thing. you too can use the free parts of your favorite dis=
t and modify
and resell it. THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF IT!!!!
NOONE can ever take away the free parts. NOONE must reinvent the wheel to cr=
eate a new
application. Just use something close, and save month's of redundant coding.=
Seems like
there had better be several distributions to maintain competition. We all kn=
ow what happens
when competition goes away?!?
