I have a DELL OPTIPLEX GXa 300 Mhz. and when he buys it the graphic card it
came with the ATI 3D RAGE PRO AGP.
Install RedHat Linux 5.0 (Hurricane) and it didn't support this graphic
card. Change, momentarily, whit a MATROX MILLENIUM II whit 4Mb that worked
perfectly with XFree86.
For the Hurricane List I found out that I could get off the net from
http://www.s=
use.de> the X Server that gave support to my card.
I download the XSuSe_Mach64 that supports the graphic card ATI 3D RAGE PRO
AGP and I have followed the instructions for their installation.
As root:
cd /
tar xfvzp [PATH_TO_TGZ] / [X-SERVER].tgz
tar xfvzp [PATH_TO_TGZ] /xsuseconfig.tgz
mkdir -p /var/X11R6/xkb/compiled.
Well, when I run xf86config encounter my graphic card in the list with the
n.43 ATI XPERT(a)PLAY PCI and AGP, 3D RAGE PRO., I install everything (I
believe) correctly and when run startx can see XWindows perfectly but with a
resolution of 320x200 with the one that I cannot work.
When shutdown XWindows whit CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE can see:
(- -) SVGA: PCI: ATI Unknown Chipset (0x4744) rev 92m Neniry @
0xFd000000, mmio(a)0xfcfff000, I/0 @0xec00

(- -) SVGA: SpeedUp code selection modified vecause virtual X !=3D1024
(- -) SVGA: Using XAA (XFree86 Aceleration Architecture)

Somebody knows like I can solve this problem. That I am making bad?
Thanks in advance.
