Maybe this is a stupid question, but did you set up this printer as a
network printer or as a local printer? If it is local, it could very well
be spooled locally .. but not do anywhere :). What does the printcap
entry look like?

Don't know the particular one, but i think the high numbered laserwriters
are the high end ones. And thus you'd think they could do postscript.
What happens if you send it output from a2ps, or just some ascii text?

Level two printers can print level one postscript, but not vice versa.
