Good morning,
My name is Stefano Papini and I'm a customer of ours. I've just bought SuSE
5.3 and I've got some problems. I've installed it on a new Quantum 7.6 GB.
My video scheda is a STB Velocity 128 4 MB sgram, the monitor is a Miro 15",
Mouse ps/2.
Motherboard epox mvp3 and K6 300 - 2.
Via Sax I can't set the resolution of the screen to less than 1024x786,
which is too high (everything is too little). When I try to access to lower
resolution (800x600, 640x480), I see only a small and distorted part of the
screen.
1) how can I get 800x600 resolution?
Once I didn't know how to exit tha sax when it fails (sometimes it does and
forgive me to use the mouse) I pushed reset. Result at every boot the vshop
can't recover. I have -8888 ERROR, and I'm suggested to digit 'x_clear
vshop'. But the command isn't seen.
2) Where must I run 'x_clear vshop' from?
Sincerely I hope you will answer me, infact I've already tried to contact
you but I had no luck. By the way I work as telematics consultant and would
be interested in suggesting my customers to use linux rather than microsoft
products. But I must be sure that they can receive technical assistance,
too.
If you're interested in being considered among the possible solution
providers in OS and applications employed in Telematics fields, you can
contact me.
Best regards,
Stefano

Hi,
I don't have your card nor monitor, but I can give somethings to
try until someone who knows more answers you.
To exit X without rebooting, try .
If SAX dosn't work for your card, try using XF86Setup and use
the standard SVGA server.
