If you want to create a mailing list faq, here are some contributions:
Q: Is S.u.S.E. libc5 or glibc2 based?
A: S.u.S.E. linux <=3D 5.3 is a libc5 based distribution. S.u.S.E. 5.3
added support for glibc2 binaries, and beginning with S.u.S.E. 6.0,
expected during the '98-'99 holiday season, S.u.S.E. is making the move
to glibc2.
Q: Is there an Alpha-specific version of the S.u.S.E. linux
distribution?
A: After S.u.S.E. 6.0 for x86 is final, the work will begin on porting
S.u.S.E. linux to the Alpha platform.
Q: After installation, every time I reboot, YaST starts again saying
that there are scripts it has to run. What's the deal?
A: After S.u.S.E. linux has finished installing, it needs to run some
scripts to set up perl, your man page directories, etc.. Depending on
the speed of your system this can take anywhere from a couple minutes to
considerably longer. If you reboot before the process is finished, it
will start again at your next boot, ad infinitum, until the process is
allowed to complete itself. You can watch the progress of this process
on tty9 (press alt+F9), and when the scripts have finished running, then
you can safely reboot and begin using S.u.S.E. linux.=09
Q: I set up my printer in YaST, but when I print something, it isn't in
the traditional letter format. How do I change this?
A: In /etc/apsfilterrc, change the value of line number 249 to 1n.
Q: Why does S.u.S.E. ship with such an old gcc?
A: gcc-2.7.2.1 is known to properly compile 2.0.x kernels. When
S.u.S.E. switches to glibc2 with S.u.S.E. 6.0, it is expected that egcs
will be the default c compiler included with S.u.S.E. linux, although
gcc-2.7.2.x may be included for kernel compilation. This depends on
egcs, which is in active development, and may or may not be suitable for
compiling 2.0.x kernels at the time of S.u.S.E. 6.0's release.=09

Thanks for putting these together :)
It was me, not Bodo, who volunteered to do so. I'll put them into the FAQ.

Ummh, this is not quite correct (would imply a long time after i386 6.0).
In fact, porting to the Alpha platform is done in parallel with the
development of the 6.0 release.
I'm quite confident the Alpha port will be available quite shortly after
the release of i386 6.0.

How about a web page? Good start on the FAQ.

Thanks. As soon as I have made up a SGML-Version, it should be no problem
to convert it to HTML. Stay tuned...
