I have had a lot of trouble with recompiling the kernel under 5.2. Am I
the only one??
The main reason I am recompiling is to enable ppp so I can connect to
the internet. (this message ala win95 :-(
Is it possible to install the kernel source from 5.1 into 5.2?? If so,
just the lx_suse package?? I never had any problems with 5.1 compiling
and I miss that!!
Thanks
mc

I've complile a 2.0.33-S.u.S.E. source kernel without difficult (with PPP sup=
port)... Is that where it bails on you? or is your PPP not working with the=
new kernel?
Can you compile a kernel without PPP support without it erroring? or =
is PPP shutting down on you?
Let me know... I'll check back in about three hours...

Michael,
Yes, I had some problems. I was quite intimidated by them at firs. I took
the error dump and posted it here. The SuSE gurus had my compiled and
running faster than a Porsche on the Autobahn. Look back at my mail on the
mail archive. If that doen't get you up and running, I suggest you post
your errors. For me, my problems seemed much more difficult than it was.
